First of all, the COD engine is not beautiful. It runs at 600p to keep the 50-60 frames per second. In case you didn't notice, the environments have some of the blurriest, low res textures ever to keep that framerate.
Second of all... we need another interview with Zerk.
And I see that you guys are Halo haters. That's cool (although I love the series). I would just like to dig deep into the minds of Halo haters. Why do you hate it so much?
As for me, why I love Halo is because I love playing with my friends. Halo is simply built for that, with local play, system link, ability to play 4 player co-op campaign with ease, and I have a gamer brother I can just play with anytime I want. And the thing is, Halo ODST is actually the most fun experience I've ever had for the past year. Sure I've been playing Bad Company's multiplayer for the past 7 months straight, but the level of enjoyability, fun, and replayability you get from Halo is, I believe, unrivaled.
This is actually the one thing I wish I could see in Bad Company 2.
The COD engine itself is a thing of beauty, but I'd agree that it sacrifices some graphical qualities in order to run at 60FPS. I would say that framerate is more important to me than graphical quality in the long run.
I also wouldn't consider ourselves Halo haters. In fact, I'd say it's more like we are Halo purists. We love what Bungie did with Halo 1. We even can respect some of the things they did with Halo 2. However, Halo 3 shows that they sacrificed gameplay for "realism" and graphics.
Hopefully we'll see Bungie shift back to their H1 days with Reach, but I doubt it...
These episodes are getting to long. I can't keep focused on a mediocre show for 100 min, let alone, a professional podcast/talk show for that long. You probably should edit it down to 45 min, if that.
