You guys dont know what youre talking about when it comes to Quake. Please dont make bold assumptions on issues you have no idea about. You may have played Quake in the past, but I can tell you still have no understanding of the game. As for it coming to xbox Live, I really can't comment on, and those "perks" do sound kinda trash, but you still dont know what youre talking about with the actual PC game.

Why would you be excited for Quake 3 with a controller anyway? It sucked trying to play it on a DC pad and it would suck on a 360 controller. Even if it was a direct port it still wouldn't be suitable for competitive play since the PC version is the standard. There's just no point in caring about it at all.

I'd rather they try to make the game work on a controller instead of making people try to pull off the same maneuvers with a lesser control scheme (at least for this speed of game). Either way you're playing a gimped version of Quake. Just play QuakeLive.

Esh here. To the first poster, Quake was my game growing up. All I played was Quake, original Team Fortress, Quake 2, and Quake 3. I played some mods for each as well, but traditional CPMA and original DM were my modes of choice. I don't even see an argument that you're trying to make as to "why" we don't know what we are talking about, so obviously you're just trying to get us worked up over nothing. Sorry, ain't workin.

To the last poster's comment about "why should we be excited to play console quake." This is a really good question. The answer is quite simple: So we can play quake with players we know on the XBLA and show them what quake is all about and to bring a classic PC shooter that helped give birth to multiplayer FPS to the console.

Your comment stating that it "wouldn't be suitable for competitive play" is an outright fabrication of the truth. If the game didn't have all the garbage that we talked about, it would be a lot of fun to play competitively. On the circuit for MLG? I dunno. I don't care. I just want to have some fun playing a game I know and love on the console. Is that too much to ask?

I should have been more clear when I said it wouldn't be competitive. I meant on a tournament level where it would be ignored because there's already the PC version.

QuakeLive is so accessible, there's no reason you can't play it with your friends now. Unless they don't have a computer or just don't want to give it a shot. If the latter is true why would they want to spend money on a game they won't play for free?

As for the items, I was never really bothered by the old items, so I doubt these will bother me (or any other dueler) very much. It's probably for big DM and team games.

Consoles should just support m/k support al-fucking-ready.
